Phase III includes submitting a permit modification application to the FDEP to start bioreactor operations (i.e. leachate injection, organic composting, landfill gas collection and energy production of the waste) at the Angelo’s Class I solid waste facility. The permit application will include the design of the injection pipes, gas recovery system and green energy conversion system.
Although the engineers have already designed the facilities in Phase I for these activities, specific approval for these operations will be sought from the FDEP prior to operations and will include any other specific conditions resulting from Phase II approval with the County.
