Proposed Solutions

Committed To Protecting Human Health & The Environment

We have mentioned the materials that will be accepted for disposal at the proposed facility; however, it is also important to note the materials that will not be accepted. The Angelo’s facility will employ a rigorous waste screening and separation program to ensure that only non-hazardous, non-toxic waste is disposed of at the facility. Wastes that will not be accepted for disposal at the facility include:

  • Hazardous waste
  • PCB-containing waste (for example, lighting ballasts and transformers)
  • Biomedical waste (treated or untreated)
  • Asbestos
  • Ash
  • Batteries
  • Used oil
  • Yard trash
  • Whole tires

The Composting and Recycling Facility will not accept these materials for disposal. If a hauler brings any of these materials to the facility, the material will be sent to an appropriate waste hauling or disposal facility for proper management. All employees will be trained through state-approved courses to be able to effectively identify and manage these prohibited wastes.
